Read Devotion“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
— Hebrews 13:8
The Book of Hebrews was written to Christians who were facing hardship, pressure, and persecution. Many were becoming discouraged and were tempted to return to their old way of life.
Even now, we face similar situations; we experience the same trials that those of old did: hardship, pressure, persecution, and more. However, this verse reminds us that Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Yesterday
Remember the biblical figures whom God sustained in the past:
Joseph: Betrayed and imprisoned.
Daniel: Persecuted for praying.
David: Hunted and pressured.
Job: Endured extreme suffering.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: Pressured to compromise their faith.
Every time you find yourself in a similar situation, remember these figures. The same God who helped them through their trials is the same God helping us today, and forever.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
— Hebrews 13:8
The Word will never be outdated, because the Word is God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 13:7 (NIV) Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
The Context
This takes place during the Last Supper. Jesus begins washing His disciples’ feet—a task usually reserved for the lowest servant. When He reaches Peter, Peter resists because it feels wrong for his Lord to serve him in such a way.
That is when Jesus says:
"You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand." (John 13:7, NIV)
The Lesson: God’s Work Isn’t Always Immediately Clear
This verse reminds believers that there are moments when God’s actions don’t make sense, but understanding comes with time.
Peter lacked a full perspective on humility: Jesus was teaching that true greatness in God’s kingdom is found in serving others. Peter saw the act as inappropriate, but Jesus was revealing a deeper truth about leadership.
It pointed to the Cross: The foot washing symbolized spiritual cleansing. At that moment, the disciples didn’t understand that Jesus was about to die for their sins. Only after the crucifixion and resurrection did the full picture become clear.
Applying This to Life’s "Unwanted" Moments
Sometimes in life, we find ourselves in unwanted situations. Consider the story of Jonah: God told Jonah to preach repentance to Nineveh, but Jonah refused. Why? Because Nineveh was an enemy of Israel—violent and cruel. Jonah didn’t want God to show mercy to a people he believed deserved judgment.
Our lives can be similar. God may place us in a situation we dislike because He has a greater plan. When Jonah finally understood and obeyed, the entire city of Nineveh believed his message and was transformed.
The Requirement: Trust and Faith
John 13:7 requires both trust and faith. Without them, we often find ourselves complaining rather than growing.
Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV): "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Hebrews 11:1 (NIV): "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
The Distinction
Faith is our assurance—the bedrock of what we believe.
Trust is the action of letting God do His will, even when we cannot see the outcome.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
This verse provides me with a root for what love truly is. When I understand its deepest meaning, it answers the question: "Why did You do that?"
Romans 5:8 (NIV) tells us:
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Through this, God is telling us, "I love you!"
When you love someone, you cannot help but do something to express how much you care for them. God expressed His love for us through His one and only Son. If a boyfriend or girlfriend gives you flowers, God gave you eternal life through Jesus. Imagine how much God truly loves us.
This tells me what love really is. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 says:
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."
When God expressed His love through His Son, it contained everything described in that passage. Therefore, every time you love, base it on what Christ did for us.
Some might say it is hard to love this way, but I tell you: you can do it through the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26 (NIV): "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
John 16:13 (NIV): "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth."
Romans 8:26 (NIV): "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness..."
We should always welcome the Holy Spirit into our lives because we are the temple of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16 (NIV):
"Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?"

Never Give Up in Prayer

Genesis 32:26 (NIV): “I will not let you go unless You bless me.”
This verse tells the story of Jacob. At this moment, Jacob was preparing to face his brother, Esau, whom he had wronged years earlier. He was filled with fear and uncertainty about their reunion.
That night, Jacob wrestled with a mysterious man (widely understood to be God or a divine messenger). This struggle lasted until daybreak—it was a physical battle, but also a deeply spiritual one.
This story provides profound insight: we should never stop praying for what we need. Often, we stop praying when the wait feels too long. We get tired of waiting and begin to wonder, "Does God even hear me?" or "It’s been years; why hasn't anything changed?" However, Jacob’s experience reminds us to keep praying and never give up until the Lord blesses us and answers our prayers. This mirrors the teaching in Luke 18:1, which tells us that we should always pray and not lose heart.
Jacob refused to let go until he received assurance. His posture was one of total dependence: “God, I need You—I won’t stop until You answer.” Even when his hip was dislocated during the intense struggle, he refused to release his hold. He prioritized the blessing over his own physical comfort. We need that same kind of persistence today.
Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV): “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Jacob was seeking God with his whole heart. It was this wholeheartedness and refusal to surrender that defined his encounter with the Divine.

Nothing Is Impossible with God
May 11, 2026
Read DevotionJeremiah 32:27 (NIV)
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?”
Context
God spoke these words to the prophet Jeremiah at a time when Jerusalem was on the verge of falling and everything looked hopeless. Even though destruction was imminent, God promised that restoration would still come—an outcome that seemed impossible at the time. To emphasize this, God asked a rhetorical question: “Is anything too hard for Me?”
This verse serves as a powerful reminder that no matter how much we struggle or how broken we feel, God is still God. Nothing is impossible for Him, even when things seem completely insurmountable to us. As Isaiah 55:8 declares: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.” We cannot always understand how God works; that is why we must always trust Him.
In this story, God told Jeremiah to do something: buy a piece of land (Jeremiah 32:6–15). Jeremiah obeyed, but he also prayed honestly, essentially asking: “Why invest in land when the whole nation is about to collapse?” It was in response to this doubt that God said:
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for Me?” We often feel like Jeremiah, saying, "Lord, You are powerful... but this situation looks impossible." In those moments, we should remember Jesus' words in John 13:7: “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” Let us trust God and wait to see the results of His work.

Do Everything in Love
May 11, 2026
Read Devotion1 Corinthians 16:14: Do Everything in Love.
It’s a short verse, but it is incredibly powerful. If you read the Bible or do daily devotions, you likely understand what love truly means.
What is love?
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” > — 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
When I think of the word LOVE, only one thing comes to mind: Jesus Christ, who represents what true love is. Love is not something you do only when someone is good to you; even when someone hates you, you must love them.
Loving others is not easy. When you embody love in your life, you represent God. When God showed us how to love, He suffered greatly. Similarly, when we show love, we may also suffer. Consider this: you must love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44). How difficult is that to live out? We are called to deny ourselves when we follow Christ (Luke 9:23). We must handle our pain patiently, just as Christ did on the cross.
But of this one thing, I can assure you:
“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” — Romans 8:18 (NIV)
The pain you experience now cannot compare to the future glory God has prepared for you. ?

Your Greatest Witness Is Mercy

“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” Luke 6:36 (NIV)
In an increasingly unkind world, your greatest Christian witness can be showing people mercy.
Living in this world, you will surely notice how unmerciful and unforgiving it is. Even when you are doing your very best, the world always puts you down.
But when people see you showing mercy, especially considering how rude and mean society has become, they’ll say, “That’s what I expect a Christian to be like—like Jesus.”
Jesus says in Luke 6:36, “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful” (NIV).
This verse reminds me of one thing you can do to build a lifestyle of mercy.
Watch and listen for the needs of others. Whose needs? The needs of people in your neighborhood, at your work, at you church, and in your family. Mercy always begins with awareness. If you’re not aware, then you don’t care.
The Bible says, “Look out for one another’s interests, not just for your own” (Philippians 2:4 GNT).
You don’t struggle to be merciful because you’re a bad person. It’s because you’re too busy. Busyness is the number one destroyer of mercy in your life. When you’re moving from event to event and task to task, it’s hard to pay attention to the people around you. And when you’re not looking and listening for people’s needs, it’s nearly impossible to be merciful.

Psalms 23:4
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
David, the author of Psalm 23, experienced very real threats throughout his life. He was hunted by King Saul, forced to live in the wilderness, and constantly faced mortal danger. Because of these experiences, he understood exactly what it felt like to be in "dark valleys" which symbolize fear, danger, suffering, and uncertainty.
Life in this world is full of challenges, but this verse reminds us that no matter how dark your trials may be, God is with you. The rod and the staff symbolize His protection and guidance in your life.
The story of David demonstrates how a life of faith can be applied to our own. David never forgot God, whether he was enduring a trial or enjoying a season of prosperity; he remained constantly in God's presence. This devotion is precisely why David found such success.

This verse is very powerful. It shows that even if you have only a little strength to serve Him, it still matters. God does not depend on your ability before He opens doors for you. He sees everything we do for Him, and even the smallest things are important. Because of that, God can open a door for you that no one can close.
So don’t be jealous if others seem more blessed or able to serve the Lord better than you. Even the simplest acts matter to God. He values everything we do for Him.

“Then Moses said to Him, ‘If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.’”
This verse gives me insight that the presence of the Lord is more valuable, even if your life does not seem good, than being successful without God.
We are capable of doing things that can make our lives better or help us become successful, but sometimes we fail to recognize that the presence of the Lord has been left behind. We become so focused on our goals that we do not realize we are already disobeying Him.
I would rather stay in my situation, even if it does not seem good enough for others, than go to another place where I may feel safer in my personal view but without Your presence.

This verse reminds us that it doesn’t matter if your faith is as small as a mustard seed. What matters is how faith works in your life. Faith grows day by day when you feed your spiritual life with the Word of God.
Do not judge your faith because it is small. Faith is faith. It doesn’t matter if it is big or small, because when faith takes over your life, you are no longer the one controlling the steering wheel, God is.

Read DevotionActs 8:26–40
In this passage, God sent Philip to a desert road to meet just one man, an Ethiopian eunuch who was searching for the truth. Philip shared the good news about Jesus, and that one conversation led the eunuch to believe and be baptized.
Sometimes in life, when we share the Word of God, we want more listeners. We may feel like losing interest when there are only one or two people listening. But this message reminds us that even a single listener matters. Philip did not complain to God, saying, “Lord, there is only one listener.” Because in truth, it doesn’t matter if there is only one.
The Bible says in Luke 15:7 (NIV):
“There will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents…”
This verse does not say that heaven rejoices only when 20 people repent. It says that even if just one sinner repents, there is great rejoicing in heaven.
So don’t be discouraged if your number of listeners is small. Be glad, because what truly matters is that even one sinner repents and heaven rejoices.

There is a story in the Bible about three young men who were thrown into a blazing furnace. This story is found in Daniel 3:16–18 and is often called the Fiery Furnace.
The story is about King Nebuchadnezzar II, who made a huge golden statue and commanded everyone to bow down and worship it. But three young men—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused because they worshiped only God.
Because of their faith, the king ordered them to be thrown into a blazing furnace heated seven times hotter than usual. But something amazing happened: God protected them. When the king looked into the fire, he saw not three, but four men walking unharmed the fourth looked like a divine being.
They came out of the fire without even the smell of smoke on them, without a scratch, and without feeling any pain.
This story tells us that when we worship the one true God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and put all our trust and faith in Him, no one can truly harm us even if we are thrown into a blazing furnace.
These three young men did not doubt or become afraid, even though they knew they would be thrown into the furnace if they refused to bow down and worship the golden statue made by the king.
Look at the courage of these three young men they did not even flinch. Why were they so courageous? Because they knew who God truly is. They knew God would protect them, and they trusted how God works.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV) says:
“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”
In our lives, when we do not know someone, we do not trust them. Many doubts come into our minds. But when you know someone, like your father, you will always put your trust in him. It is the same with God. If you do not know Him, you cannot fully trust Him. But when you know Him like a father, you will place all your trust in Him.
Knowing God is not just about learning about the Creator of the world it is about building a relationship with Him.

Do you feel sadness, frustration, or a broken heart because of trials? I feel the same, but this message reminds us that our suffering cannot be compared to the joy He will give us later.
We feel pain and suffering, but it doesn’t mean it will last forever. The trials we face today are part of shaping us into a better version of ourselves, and they prepare us to receive the glory He will reveal to us soon.
Maybe you have a question in mind: What is my assurance? Faith.
Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Every promise of God may seem impossible it can be hard to believe and may even seem too good to be true but faith works. Faith is our assurance, and God has revealed this through many characters in the Bible.
God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations, even though he was old and had no child at first. He believed God’s promise even when it seemed impossible. Because of his faith, God blessed him with Isaac.
Sarah doubted at first because of her old age, but God still fulfilled His promise. She gave birth to Isaac in her old age. This shows that nothing is impossible for God.
God promised judgment through a flood and told Noah to build an ark. Noah obeyed even though it had never rained like that before. His faith saved his family.
God promised to use Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt. Even when he felt weak and unqualified, he obeyed God. He trusted God’s promise and led the people to freedom.
1 Corinthians 2:9
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Habakkuk 3:17–18
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms… yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!
In life, there are seasons of lack no food, no harvest, no provision. It is really hard when we go through these times. In this season, we may ask ourselves: Can we still rejoice in the Lord?
If you think about it, it is hard but we can.
If you truly know who God is, you can.
In this message, Habakkuk didn’t say, “I feel joyful” he said, “I will rejoice.” When we are in hard times, we do not feel happy but instead feel sadness. We respond with joy and happiness even when it is hard because of our faith in God.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we live by faith, not by sight.”
Yes, circumstances and problems are truly very hard and can bring so much pain, but through faith, you can overcome them.
Job lost his children, wealth, and health all at once. But even in extreme pain, he chose to trust God, believing that God was still with him, God gave Job double what he had before.
David was hunted by King Saul, faced many enemies, and experienced personal failures. Yet he always turned to God in his pain.
Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den for obeying God. But instead of complaining, he trusted God. God protected him and shut the mouths of the lions.
These Bible characters show us that when we live by faith, we can overcome whatever sadness or pain we feel. When we choose faith, it is not us who do the work, God does.

This verse is a powerful reminder from Jesus Christ about the reality of life and the hope we can hold onto.
God tells us that it is not easy to live in this world. We will face many trials, challenges, and problems in life. Being a believer does not mean living a life without problems; it means we are not alone in them. God always reminds us in His Word that He will never leave us (Deuteronomy 31:6). He is always by our side until the very end (Matthew 28:20).
The Lord says in Exodus 14:14, “I will fight for you; just stay calm.”
God promises in this verse that He will fight for us, especially when we are facing trials. This clearly reminds us that we are not alone in our battles we have God on our side. The battles we face are also His battles.

Jesus told a story about a young man who asked his father for his inheritance early. He left home and wasted everything on a wild lifestyle. When he lost all his money and had nothing left even no food he decided to go back home.
This story tells us that each one of us has moments in life when we choose our own decisions rather than staying in the presence of God. Many of us realize this situation, but many are still where they are. The question is: why?
To answer this question, you need to consider two things:
1. Maybe they are still enjoying what the world has to offer them.
2. Maybe they are afraid to come back. There are questions in their minds like: “Will God accept me? Will God welcome me again after everything I have done?”
There is only one answer in this scenario in our life: Know God. Know who He is.

In the same way, we are all facing different kinds of suffering in this world. Paul was in jail; you might be struggling in school, facing problems in your family, financial difficulties, or challenges in work or business, and more. Paul endured it and trusted in the power of God that gave him strength. The God who helped Paul is the same God who is helping us today — Hebrews 13:8. The perfect example of love is Christ. He shows us how to truly love. His patience is unimaginable. He is always waiting patiently for everyone to repent — 2 Peter 3:9. His kindness is for everyone, even for those who do not deserve it — Luke 6:35.
“Love does not envy” — Jesus never desired what others had. Instead, He gave everything for us — 2 Corinthians 8:9.
“Love does not boast” — even though He is God, Jesus remained humble and did not show off His power — Philippians 2:6–7.
“Love is not proud” — Jesus humbled Himself, even to the point of dying for us — Philippians 2:8.
Christ never dishonored others; instead, He lifted everyone up. He showed this in John 8:3–11, in the story of the woman caught in adultery. Even when others were ready to shame her, Jesus chose mercy. He did not dishonor her; He forgave her and gave her a new beginning.
He did not come to serve Himself, but to serve others — Mark 10:45.
Christ is not easily angered. He showed this on the cross. Even when they mocked Him and caused Him great pain, He chose to remain calm and said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” — Luke 23:34.
